Eleni Calligas, Ph.D

Eleni Calligas joined Arcadia in Greece in 2003 as a lecturer of Modern Greek history. She completed her Ph.D. at the London School of Economics and Political Science with a dissertation entitled "The 'Rizospastai' (Radical-Unionists); Politics and nationalism in the British Protectorate of the Ionian Islands, 1815-1864." She holds an MA in International History, London School of Economics and Political Science and a BA in History from the American College of Greece (Deree). She served as Development Officer at the British School at Athens. She has also lectured at the Department of Other Languages, Modern Greek Section, University of Cambridge, UK and the Centre for Byzantine, Ottoman and Modern Greek Studies, University of Birmingham, UK.
