Dr. Elena Moreno Angulo is Resident Director for Arcadia in Cuba. Her role is integrated into Arcadia’s Spain programs team, led by Dr. Jaume Gelabert. She organizes and provides all Arcadia student services and support in Cuba. In addition, she manages Arcadia’s close working relationship with the University of Havana academic teams and officials.

Elena holds a Ph.D in Spanish with a special focus on Latin American Literature which she completed through Florida International University (FIU). Her doctoral dissertation compared slavery narratives in Cuba and the U.S. Elena also holds a Masters in Spanish from FIU and a Masters in English Language and Literature from the University of Valencia.

Elena also holds a B.A. degree from the University of Valencia in Italian Language and Literature that encompassed prior study at the University of Bologna. In addition, she holds a B.A. in English Language and Literature from the University of Valencia.

Elena also holds certification in teaching Spanish as a foreign language and design of digital educational resources. She is multilingual with fluency in Spanish, Catalan, English, Italian, French and German.

Elena joined Arcadia from the Official Languages School based in Valencia where she has worked with domestic as well as study abroad students in various capacities.
