We at Arcadia University are deeply saddened by the horrific attack in Manchester, U.K., earlier this week and share our deepest sympathies with all those affected. In the immediate aftermath of Monday’s attack, Arcadia University staff confirmed the safety of our students studying at the University of Manchester. We have been in touch with all our students in the region to remind them of our emergency protocols, as well as the support and counseling services available to them.

We appreciate that in light of this incident and the raised terror threat level in the U.K., students and their families may have concerns about traveling abroad. We want to reassure you that The College of Global Studies maintains a robust emergency and communication plan. Our Health and Safety team monitors world events through the U.S. Department of State, OSAC, private security firms, and with our staff overseas. Our staff in the U.S. and around the globe are fully prepared to respond to any emergencies that may arise and to support students throughout their program. We continue to advise students to take appropriate safety precautions and to stay informed through the U.S. Department of State and reputable news sources.

We believe the importance of global understanding through study abroad is more important than ever during these uncertain times. Concerns about safety and security are natural at this time, but we believe they should not dissuade students from this life-changing opportunity. We encourage students and their families to read more about our approach to health and wellness and invite you to contact our Program Managers or any member of our Health and Safety team if you wish to discuss any questions or concerns.
